Shanthal Jyothi Public School
Jyothi Public School, which was later rechristened to Shanthal Jyothi Public School, was founded in 1994 in Muttom, Thodupuzha, making it one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in the region. Shanthal Jyothi Public School, beautifully located on a hillock near Muttom town is indeed a lamp kept on a lampstand. Started in 1994 and managed by the Adoration Sisters of Christ Raj Province, Pala, the school has already earned a reputation for excellence in academic as well as co-curricular activities.
Mother Shanthal, whose name the institution bears, was the first member of the Adoration Congregation. In the beginning of the 20th century, when facilities for education were much less and totally insufficient, Mother Shanthal and her sisters came forward, establishing schools in various parts of the state. She took it upon herself as a mission and as a challenge to expel the darkness of ignorance from the minds of children. That was just the beginning. It is carried on by us even today, aiming at the intellectual, moral and spiritual development of our students. Since its establishment, the institution has witnessed an immense growth not only in the number of students but also in providing quality education for the children.
History
The completion of 'A block in the year of 1996 and the rechristening of the institution into Shanthal Jyothi Public School on 3rd June 1996 were milestone moments in its institutional history. Like any modern-day institution, Shanthal Jyothi also had a very humble beginning with LKG to class 3rd with 113 students and three teaching staff. The school obtained affiliation from CBSE New Delhi in 2000 (affiliation number 930290) with classes from LKG to 8 with 405 students and 20 teaching staff. Immense growth in the number of students continued with the addition of class 9 in June 2001 the student population continued with the addition of class 9 in June 2001 and class 10 in 2002. Rapid growth continued as new blocks and facilities were added and the school got expanded. Completion and blessing of b block and kids park took place in the year 2003. The sports and athletic activities took a new turn with the inaguration of the indoor stadium in 2011. The first batch of class Xll with 44 students passed out in the year 2014. It built one of the finest academic libraries and built the labs needed to establish the reputation of its science departments. The school celebrated its Silver Jubilee in December 2019.
As part of Silver Jubilee Celebrations, My Stamp of the Silver Jubilee Logo and special cover were issued by the Indian Postal Department. In the Silver Jubilee year, We achieved 100% results in CBSE class X and XII examinations. The All India Level 11th and 14th ranks for the CBSE Xth exam was bagged by Gautham Khrishna, with 97.8%, and Athul Renjith, with 97.2%, respectively. A total of 48 Distinction and 24 first-class were secured by our school. In CBSE class XII examination, We secured 100% result with 6 distinction and 16 first-class for the XII CBSE board examination. The School continues its dedicated work of enlightening young minds through quality education.
